DODONI’S FIVE ASPECTS OF SUSTAINABILITY:
1. THE TASTE OF GOOD
1. THE TASTE OF GOOD
Quality is of paramount importance for DODONI. That is why our products are certified by international food safety and quality management standards (BRC, IFS, ISO 22000, ISO 9001), which guarantee their safety and quality. Following new dietary needs and trends, we introduce vegan products and desserts, as well as products with less salt, less fat and lactose-free, promoting healthier food choices. Our raw material, milk, comes from local producers and family farms. In this way, we support local economies on the one hand and can guarantee its quality origin and animal welfare on the other. We continuously educate our farmers through awareness programs on issues related to animal health and welfare. During manufacturing processes of our products, we use renewable energy sources as well as energy produced on site from our new photovoltaic park in Ioannina. In addition, we strive to improve our packaging, choosing more sustainable materials and less plastic. We consistently support the threefold principle: Reduce / Reuse / Recycle.
2. OUR FAMILY
2. OUR FAMILY
Our people are the heart core of our company. Our Code of Conduct describes our ethos, policies, and the way we operate both externally and internally. Our values and principles are what we expect our employees and partners to adopt. We respect our employees by protecting their health and providing them with a safe working environment. Our people have worked alongside us for many years, with nearly 44% of our permanent staff being with us for over 15 years. We are committed to offering them a decent wage and providing a total compensation package that meets/exceeds legal minimum standards. We want our employees to remain informed, trained and well qualified. Fully compliant with European legislation, we ensure transparency and guarantee confidentiality through procedures for reporting in the workplace and on our website, as needed. The workforce as a percentage of gender representation is: 34% female/ 66% male, with the intention to increase female representation in the future.

4. OUR PEOPLE
We believe in Sustainable and Responsible Development with Respect for All. We operate with integrity, abiding to all National / International Laws and Regulations. We establish long-term relationships with our partners, customers, and suppliers, whom we expect to be consistent with our business principles. We are audited by bodies such as SEDEX and share our information with our suppliers and customers.
5. CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
5. CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
At DODONI we recycle all our cardboard and paper. We have zero food waste – Whey representing 60% of our total wastes (coming from the manufacturing process) is given away for production of biogas off site, while the remaining amount of whey is given for animal feed. During production, we use electricity coming from renewable sourcing while our new photovoltaic facility in Ioannina, is contributing by 30% to our energy annually. We turn to sustainable materials in our packaging and participate in circular economy schemes. Having installed animal by-product management equipment, we manage to reduce the volume of products and contribute to their reuse. In every part of our factories, where possible, we have replaced old technology with new. At all three of our facilities, we are implementing our environmental policy by measuring and using energy more efficiently. In terms of carbon offsetting, we have recently undertaken tree planting around the perimeter of our plant’s fence.
