In addition to its delicious taste, tzatziki is said to offer various health benefits: it’s high in protein, the olive oil contains healthy fats and powerful anti-inflammatory properties, the cucumber provides hydration, while garlic is known for its immune-boosting benefits.
Tzatziki is authentically Greek, especially when you use DODONI authentic Greek yoghurt!
Tip from the Greeks: Serve the tzatziki chilled with pita bread, sliced vegetables, or as a condiment for grilled meats.

Ingredients
- 2 cups DODONI Greek yoghurt
- 1 medium cucumber, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Process
- Place the grated cucumber in a colander and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Allow the cucumber to sit and drain for at least 30 minutes to remove any excess water.
- In a mixing bowl, combine DODONI Greek yoghurt, minced garlic, olive oil, and white wine vinegar. Stir well to combine.
- Once the cucumber has drained, use a clean dish towel or paper towels to squeeze out any remaining water. Add the grated cucumber to the yogurt mixture and stir well.
- Add the chopped dill to the tzatziki and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the tzatziki for at least 1 hour to allow the flavours to meld together.
